Troubled times require desperate measures. While the usage of the brown gas HHO (split water) as a water additive for gasoline does not exactly fit this category, the incredible popularity that these hydrogen car kits have achieved lately is a proof of how desperately people want to change their lifestyle.

The problem with this hydrogen additive business is the fact that not all the players on the market are… let’s say… of top notch quality.

It pays a lot to analyze such offers, but it pays even more to know what you should be looking for:

Here are 5 tips when considering buying such a system:

1) You must first do no harm. This is a critical part. There are hydrogen car kits out there which when are employed can damage your car. Ideally a hydrogen car kit should not require messing up with your car’s engine or your car’s injection system.

2) Remember that hydrogen is dangerous. This is another critical part. Search for hydrogen car kits that store as little hydrogen gas as possible. Ideally the system should only generate hydrogen when needed.

3) Efficiency is the key. While most hydrogen car kits have improvements versus the early models, some are simply better than the others. Watch the efficiency figure. See how much such a system can increase the mileage on the average car.

4) Don’t buy into the hype. Look for figures. Salesmen are just that… salesmen. They can try to spin the facts, but they can’t hype the figures. Be on the lookout for technical specs and the minimum guaranteed results. These are the figures that matter, because these will most likely reflect the real quality of the product. If you somehow manage to obtain even better figures, then hey, you’ll have a pleasant surprise.

5) Look at the cost of the components and the cost of the hydrogen car kit guide. This is actually the last item you should pay attention to, but if you have 2 similar offers, it makes sense to go for the cheaper one.

It looks fairly complicated, but once you begin seeing the rationale behind this advice, you’ll see that it makes sense. One of the options, which I found and which passes all five tests from above is found here

In an era of rising gas prices, the American public has seen a renewed surge of interest in the kinds of fuel economy that they get in their vehicles. People are trading out and selling the gas-guzzling trucks or SUVs of yester-year, and increasingly choosing cars based on gas mileage. This trend includes a definite increase in the number of hybrid and electric cars that are being bought and sold, as people begin to embrace new alternative energy possibilities. But what is an electric car, and how does it work?

A completely electric car is powered by either batteries that must be recharged at charging stations, or fuel cells. Fuel cells take in hydrogen gas and convert it into electricity. Often, electric cars can also run on (or at least be supplemented by) solar energy in the form of panels on their roofs or bodies.

This electricity source, whatever it might be, is used to power an electric motor. The motor is a coil of wire that can spin freely inside a casing of magnets. When electricity is fed into the wire, it makes a magnetic field that turns the coil very quickly. By fastening the spinning coil to an axle, the wheels are driven along. A modern electric car can get 250 miles or more on a single charge, more than sufficient for most day to day commuting purposes.

Of late, hydrogen has emerged an alternative fuel in running the car and is becoming increasingly popular because the source of this fuel is water, which is freely available everywhere. Since, water is made up of hydrogen and oxygen, the hydrogen from water is separated through the method of electrolysis, thus acting as a fuel to the car.

In fact, hydrogen does not wholly replace the fuel. A device called hydroxy or hydrogen cell which contains two parts of hydrogen and one part of oxygen feeds into the engine chambers, with the mixture of fuel and air which enhances the burning process. This drastically reduces the utility of fuel by more than thirty percent. These hydrogen cells can also be built by a person at home, since it is not a difficult task.

Clearly, the greatest advantage of a hydrogen car is the increase in miles per gallon which ranges anywhere from fifty to hundred percent. This is also less expensive than a hybrid car which also contributes to fuel efficiency. The HHO generator is the device that separates hydrogen molecules from oxygen and that hydrogen is used to fuel the car.

Since, water is available in abundance there is no reason that there would be scarcity of water or hydrogen to be used as a fuel. Since hydrogen is a light element, the weight of the fuel is also much reduced and it has no smell.

The advantages of hydrogen fuel are endless. The byproduct of hydrogen fuel is only water. Since the hydrogen is extracted and consumed as the car is driven, it is quite safe (keeping in view that hydrogen is a highly combustible gas). With a constant search for alternative sources of energy due to the soaring prices of oil, hydrogen has come as a solution for reasons more than one.

Hydrogen is also a non depleting resource and burns more cleanly than petrol. Scientists are constantly researching to overcome the drawbacks to make the use of hydrogen cars on a large scale. Hydrogen is less expensive than gas or diesel and thus hydrogen cars are designed to offer better mileage than other types of cars. The US government provides tax rebates for hybrid and hydrogen cars which emphasizes the advantages of hydrogen cars.

But some people argue that hydrogen cars are quite expensive and there are not many gas stations for refueling. But these hurdles can be overcome in course of time because the burning problem is the rise in the price of fuel and it is imperative to find and support alternative fuel resources and vehicles that run on them. In this context, hydrogen cars should be welcomed and encouraged to help not only in the economy of an individual but also of the country as a whole.

Can you make you own hydrogen car? Hydrogen cars are the answer that many hope will answer the growing fuel crisis in America. Most people think of hydrogen cars as being a really expensive new innovation that’s going to revolutionize the auto industry, but what most motorists need is a hydrogen generator, or an HHO. These are easy to build and install in your vehicle, thus allowing you to make you own hydrogen car. There are some hydrogen generator kits that are expensive, but you don’t need a particularly expensive kit to work with. Hydrogen generators offer a lot of benefit to your car’s performance and the surrounding environment.

HHO gets its name from the chemical compound for water, H2O. This is how a hydrogen generator really works. The kits use a process that was invented by a man called Yull Brown. The process, called electrolysis, works by using an electric current to split apart the molecules of water into their hydrogen and oxygen atoms to create the two individual gases. What happens next is that these gases are then sent through the air that’s already being pumped into your car’s engine through the air pump, adding to the fumes that are being burned in order to produce the heat needed to work the engine. In other words, if you switch partially to an HHO kit, you’re actually partially fuelling your car with water. Now, because of how much storage extra water tanks take, and how much weight it adds to the car’s total, you can’t switch completely to this method, but you can get a good boost in your performance and mileage – sometimes up to 50% in gas mileage. This means that you pay half as much at the pump, if that.

There are other benefits to using an HHO generator. For one, you can make your engine more efficient, because when you burn gasoline, residue builds up in the engine and causes it to become more inefficient over time. Water vapor leaves no such residue. Also, hydrogen and oxygen are two elements that naturally occur in the atmosphere, unlike carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide, which is what normal car exhaust is. Another benefit is that you may qualify for tax credits from the IRS. The government is currently encouraging green initiatives with fuel and other lifestyle elements, so they’re offering incentives such as tax credits to people who decide to pursue green options.

Anybody with a basic knowledge of cars and mechanical tools can build and install an HHO generator from a hydrogen generator kit. In fact, you can make your own, though it’s better to have one with a condenser. All you need is a container with distilled water, electrical wire, rubber hose and baking soda. These kits can be removed from your car just as easily as they’re added, with no danger to your warranty.

You too can make you own hydrogen car. Hydrogen generators have plenty of benefits to the environment, your car, and also your wallet, because you’re cutting down on both emissions and what you have to pay for at the pump. There are plenty of guides available online on how to build a hydrogen generator with the materials listed above, and they’re inexpensive to obtain.

If you are one of the many drivers looking for ways to get more MPG from their cars then you have probably heard stories of Hydrogen Fuel Cars and how to run a car on water. These stories may sound like something from a Sci Fi magazine but hydrogen fuel cars are nothing new. In fact not only can you buy hydrogen car kits but there are also several downloadable manuals showing you precisely how to run a car on water.

Like I said, the know how to run a car on water is nothing new and has been around for many years, but due to the present oil crisis it has had a new lease of life. Hydrogen fuel cars (or cars that run on water) are just ordinary cars which are modified with a simple device to turn a small amount of water into HHO gas (sometimes called Browns gas).

This gas does not actually power the engine, but dramatically improves the efficiency of your ordinary fuel by being mixed with it. HHO gas is produced by the process of electrolysis using the current from your cars battery. This gas is then taken into the inlet manifold where it is mixed with your regular fuel and burned in the usual way.

In a normal engine, combustion is not very efficient; this is due to the large size of fuel droplets in the mixture. When HHO gas is added the oversized fuel droplets are split into smaller ones making a much finer mixture. The resulting very fine Hydrogen enhanced fuel burns more efficiently and powerfully, allowing you to get more MPG. This finer fuel mixture is said to be 3 times more powerful than ordinary gasoline.

Very little water is actually used for this process, about a quart of water is sufficient to provide up-to 1800 gallons of HHO gas. This can literally last for months allowing you to get more MPG as well as lowering exhaust emissions. It is also claimed that where Hydrogen fuel cars burn more cleanly they reduce the carbon build up in your engine, so increasing its running life.

There are several Hydrogen car kits available with a price tag of around $200, there are also many downloadable manuals and guides that give you all the information you need to make your own Hydrogen Generator. These step by step guides tell you how to obtain all the parts needed from local garages or Auto stores, and how to put them together easily with just a couple of hours work. This way you are getting the same result as the Hydrogen car kits but a lot cheaper.

So if you are trying to find out how to run a car on water
And get more MPG for your car then one of these guides seems like the best way to go. Once you have your guide you will be able to cheaply and easily convert your own cars into Hydrogen fuel cars and save a fortune at the gas pumps.
